Women’s Soccer Falls to Hudson Valley

Women’s Soccer Falls to Hudson Valley

The Lady Spartans looked to defend their home turf over the weekend in a Region III match up against Hudson Valley Community College.  Coming off a strong showing last weekend against FLCC, the non-stop, high energy play of the lady Spartans was in full force in the first half of play. Forcing the Lady Vikings to only a few chances in the first 20 minutes while creating a few of their own.  HVCC wore down Cayuga to put up 4 quick, unanswered goals later in the first half…despite the stellar play from Marissa Pannetti (Auburn, NY) and Miranda McGloon (Waterloo, NY).

Cayuga's only goal came from the scoring machine Michaela Breeze (Auburn, NY) who put away her 8th  goal of the season after scoring off a free kick given when Hudson Valley committed a foul just outside their box.

"This was the first time as head coach that we played Hudson Valley and I was impressed by their squad, but I thought we had a real chance to get a win today", Coach Robillard said after the game. "We held a very strong team to little, to no offense and only a few chances on goal which they took advantage of. I am very proud of the ladies and the entire team for their efforts today."

Cayuga will host Erie Community College on Wednesday 10/5 at 2:00pm at Emerson Field.
